A second batch of SYEMB05 modules are being made - price reduced to £32!
Project #1 - SYEMB06 Memory Module for Yamaha SY85, TG500, RM50
The SYEMB06 Project came about through a discussion on the YamahaForums website back in 2006. The idea was to design and manufacture a replacement for the long discontinued and now very rare Yamaha SYEMB06 512KB memory module.
Four years later the SYEMB06 project has been a great success with many happy owners fitting their synths with these modules - Over 270 modules have been manufactured and shipped worldwide!
These modules are designed, assembled and shipped from the United Kingdom.
The synthesizers that can use this non-volatile sample RAM memory upgrade are:
Yamaha SY85 - You can install 1 or 2 modules (512KB / 1024KB)
Yamaha TG500 - You can install 1 or 2 modules (512KB / 1024KB)
Yamaha RM50 - You can install 1 module (512KB)

Project #2 - MCD Sweet16 Memory Card for YAMAHA SY & TG Series
The MCD Sweet16 project began in October 2009 as an experiment to see if the memory capacity of an MCD64 memory card could be expanded.
Achieving this would allow more banks of sounds to fit into one single card so the user can store many more banks of sounds and have them ready to use. This would also allow the card to be used with several types of synth as each individual bank could be formatted and used for each different synth.
The most efficient use of memory was to fit 1024KB giving 16 banks of 64KB. The ideal solution was to pack everything inside a standard MCD card and have a simple bank select switch. The result would be sturdy and easy to use.
The final result is the MCD Sweet16 - an MCD card that has sixteen banks of 64KB storage. This is sixteen MCD64 cards all contained in one card.

Project #3 - SYEMB05 Memory Module for Yamaha SY99
The SYEMB05 project started at the beginning of 2011 when an original Yamaha SYEMB05 board came my way. The idea was to produce a clone board without the hefty price tag the originals sell for on eBay. Drawing on the experience of the SYEMB06 project and feedback from the folks at YamahaForums I decided to get busy with it!
The result is a direct replacement for the Yamaha unit. You can fit up to five modules into the SY99 to give a total of 3MB non-volatile sample memory (includes the onboard 512KB).
